The body secretes out excess biotin, so it’s thought to be safe in higher doses, but it’s always better to be on the safe side. One of the downsides, however, is as I said before; high amounts of biotin in the body can interfere with lab testing which obviously isn’t good for when you need to get tested for whatever reason.

There could be other side effects of taking large doses of biotin over an extended period as well. For example, larger numbers of consumers report breaking out with the higher dosage biotin supplements.

With that considered, it’s impossible to gloss over the fact that high-dose biotin supplements do receive a lot of praise from the consumer side. Many report having thicker, stronger and faster-growing hair with a healthy shine. We experienced similar results in our own testing.
